Use AI to Scale Threat Detection

How?

Cybersecurity innovators build AI into their monitoring tools to help security teams analyze more data and respond to real threats faster with less effort. AI reduces the need for “analyst intervention” and can help automate aspects of response and compliance reporting—and that’s just the beginning.

Next-level goals for leveraging AI to drive security operations (SecOps) efficiencies include finding new ways to reduce hardware and management requirements and minimize “tool sprawl.”  To this end, Keysight just announced its AppFusion Program that integrates monitoring software agents from technology alliance partners directly into Keysight Vision network packet brokers (NPBs).

Multi-vendor AI solutions streamline network and security operations (NetOps/SecOps) by reducing hardware requirements and other infrastructure costs. Instead of each monitoring tool requiring separate hardware, multiple agents run on the same Vision hardware platform.

AppFusion Drives New SecOps Efficiencies — Less Risk with Less Effort

Enterprise IT and SecOps teams need real-time network traffic to monitor and troubleshoot performance issues, detect cyber threats, and maintain operational scale and compliance. Running multiple AI-powered monitoring agents within network packet brokers creates a first-of-its-kind integration of visibility — the best-practice approach to collecting data from multiple networks and clouds — and monitoring tools used to find and respond to threats.

This new all-in-one approach saves time and money through:

  • Fewer devices to purchase and manage – reduced hardware/server expenses with multiple servers consolidated into one Vision appliance
  • Simplified deployment through pre-integrated, best-in-class security solutions
  • Centralized management through a single interface renowned for its simplicity
  • Easy scalability with on-demand activation of additional monitoring capabilities
  • Fewer delays – instantaneous availability of pre-processed data from packet brokers to monitoring solutions

Recep Ozdag, Vice President and General Manager, Network Visibility Solutions at Keysight says, “The more technology providers integrate and deliver complete solutions, the less time IT and security teams need to spend configuring and managing performance and security.” Ozdag says the new third-party AI integration, “fuses network visibility and monitoring in a new way to streamline deployment of complete, cost-efficient monitoring solutions for real-time threat detection and troubleshooting of performance issues.”

Inaugural participants in the program agree, noting AppFusion’s relevance to their specific industry sectors.

Forescout Leads the Charge

Forescout, with its long history of providing OT security solutions, Forescout ranks among the first Keysight technology alliance partners to participate in the AppFusion Program. Rob McNutt, Chief Strategy Officer, calls the integration of Forescout’s eyeInspect security monitoring technology. “Deploying the Forescout Platform within a visibility fabric delivers an unparalleled and comprehensive view that reduces blind spots and monitoring bottlenecks,” McNutt says, noting the new approach will, “fortify security across IT, operational technology (OT), internet of things (IoT), and internet of medical things (IOMT) environments.”

Financial Markets Benefit From Integrated Visibility and Monitoring

Clive Posselt, Commercial Director at Instrumentix says, “Time is money in financial markets, where nanoseconds of delay can impact the value of trades. Delivering our xMetrics® trade flow monitoring software onboard a Keysight visibility appliance can provide the buy and sell side, as well as exchanges and other liquidity venues, real-time access to the most reliable trade plant performance data, so they can optimize execution outcomes.”

Industrial Environments Require Higher Performance Levels for Security Monitoring

As Chet Namboodri, Nozomi Networks Senior Vice President of Global Business Development, says, “Integrating Nozomi Networks’ AI-powered security and risk management solutions with Keysight appliances saves customers time and money while achieving the most reliable, innovative, and highest caliber of threat monitoring and risk management available for OT, IoT, and cyber-physical systems.”
