Inline Security

Inline security tools (e.g. intrusion prevention system (IPS), web application firewall (WAF), unified threat management (UTM), and others) allow you to proactively stop malicious threats before they enter the core network. Bad IP packets associated with these types of attacks are simply dropped at the perimeter of the network. Data decryption (TLS 1.2 and 1.3) applied at this point in the network also provides a solution that enables you to look for hidden malware and security threats within encrypted data streams.
